Everything leaves a trace — that is the starting point of this work.
The Fragile Traces work with three layers of casein — a milk protein, what nourishes children — applied like the three layers of our skin. Into this surface surgical sutures are set: a tool that elsewhere closes wounds closes here tears in the fabric. The stitch remains visible — as a trace of the intervention.
The Biography works in gouache on paper hold different traces: old injuries minimised, decorated, silenced. Paper forgives little — it carries every stroke, every pressure, every change.
The Ikarus series — mixed media, multiple layers — does not depict a myth. It shows a movement: hesitating, attempting, taking new and unknown paths. Learning to fly. Going out into the world. The layers overlap, suggest, leave open. The fall is not the end — it is part of the way.
The small acrylic colour fields — dense, side by side, each for itself — form a complete image only together. The traces of dialogue between the fields, the relationships between them: that is Connecting.
The bronze hand opens — waiting, offered.
